Christel S. Nash

Christy Nash Lexington Kentucky

Christy Nash received her bachelor’s degree with honors from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. She clerked for Circuit Judge James E. Keller, and Kentucky Chief Justice Robert Stephens, gaining valuable insight into the judicial process before going into private practice.

Christy began her legal career in the Real Estate section of a large Lexington law firm, conducting residential and commercial transactions and resolving contract, tax and title disputes. She later joined a vibrant Family Law practice, representing clients in divorce, custody, visitation and property division matters.  Negotiating, mediating and litigating emotionally charged cases shaped her practical, strategic approach to conflict resolution and client advocacy.

In 2023, Christy joined Nash Marshall where she focuses her practice on state court criminal defense.  She represents individuals facing felony and misdemeanor charges throughout Central Kentucky, including allegations of assault, rape, incest, sex abuse, DUI, wanton endangerment, fraud, drug trafficking and possession, to name a few.

Christy believes that informed clients make the best decisions. She takes the time to thoroughly explain the criminal justice process, ensuring clients understand the elements of each charged offense, what must be proven by the Prosecutor, as well as all viable defenses and options for resolving the case. She works with investigators, mental health professionals, digital forensic experts and other specialists when appropriate, to develop the strongest possible defense. Every case is thoroughly prepared, every viable defense is explored, and every client is kept informed throughout the process.

In addition to criminal defense, Christy represents juveniles charged with status and public offenses in central Kentucky, college students involved in Title IX proceedings, and graduate students and licensed professionals facing allegations of academic or professional misconduct.  She also assists clients seeking to expunge eligible offenses from their records.

Christy is admitted to practice before all Kentucky courts, including the Kentucky Supreme Court, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Fayette County Bar Association.

If you or a loved one has been charged with a felony or misdemeanor crime in Kentucky, if your child is facing juvenile charges, or if you are seeking to clear your criminal record through expungement, Christy will provide knowledgeable guidance, responsive communication and dedicated advocacy.
